ZeroAvia and ScottishPower have signed an agreement, committing them to developing low carbon hydrogen supply for key airport locations in the UK.
Through this, the pair will explore airport hydrogen supply models and financing, while also looking into the clean power requirements and hydrogen production infrastructure needed for potential ZeroAvia sites that lie within ScottishPower’s distribution network. This includes Scotland, North West England and North Wales.
The agreement marks the latest move for ZeroAvia as it continues developing hydrogen solutions for aviation.
It has already announced a 70-engine agreement for the newly launched Ecojet airline and has a longstanding partnership in place with AGS Airports, which covers Glasgow and Aberdeen, to explore the potential hydrogen infrastructure requirements for airports to support hydrogen-electric flight and other potential use cases.
