Hydrogen East has published an update to stakeholders on Its development and progress as a regional hydrogen cluster.
This update includes:
- Regional Strengths and Differentiators: The East of England is poised for early hydrogen deployment, with strong foundations. 5GW installed and 9.7GW in the pipeline of offshore wind, 1.3GW and a further 3.2GW of onshore solar, 3.2GW of new build nuclear, 2.8GW of battery storage in the pipeline and a low carbon hydrogen production ambition well exceeding 2GW.
- East of England: A leader in low carbon energy: The East of England, a key contributor to the UK’s low carbon energy generation, is expanding its capacity. Hydrogen East’s evidence base supports the deployment of electrolysers in non-urban areas, aligning with regional priorities.
