Rolls-Royce and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have joined forces to explore hydrogen fuel system technology.
Together, the pair are aiming to prove hydrogen can be a zero-carbon aviation fuel of the future by addressing three key challenges that are currently standing in the way of this – fuel combustion, fuel delivery and fuel systems integration with an engine. Proving all can operate safely is key for hydrogen use in aviation to become a reality.
TCS will use its knowledge of the aircraft manufacturing industry and support Rolls-Royce’s engineering activities, including system design, component design, supply chain support and program management.
President of Manufacturing at TCS, Anupam Singhal, described the partnership as a “perfect opportunity” to put the technological strengths of TCS and its passion for the environment to use “for advancing innovation and fostering an eco-friendlier aerospace sector.”
