Funding to kick start green hydrogen projects in Scotland

A £7 million funding pot is on offer to help kick start green hydrogen projects across Scotland.

The Scottish government is inviting businesses to bid for a share of the funding, helping them to cover the development stage costs of green hydrogen production projects with a capacity of at least 5MW, and up to 400MW. This would be equivalent to enough hydrogen to heat between 200 and 16,000 homes.

Support will also be available for work that actively supports the hydrogen supply chain and storage solutions. This will be influential in helping the industry to scale up and respond to market demand.

Organisations now have until the end of September to apply for a maximum of £2 million match-funding from the scheme.
