HiiROC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens to advance its hydrogen production technology.
Through the MoU, HiiROC will capitalise on Siemens’ control technology and factory and automation expertise, ensuring the safe, efficient automation of hydrogen production and support when it comes to scaling. HiiROC’s Therma Plasma Electrolysis (TPE) technology works by disassembling gaseous hydrocarbons into hydrogen and solid carbon without creating carbon dioxide.
The TPE process is envisaged as being capable of meeting rising demand for low cost, scalable solutions for clean hydrogen production at the point of us. It is highly efficient, requiring just a fifth of the electricity of water electrolysis, and removes the need for specialised storage and transportation.
Working with Siemens, HiiROC will be able to advance product development, with Siemens’ global developer support community helping HiiROC to achieve its international expansion ambitions.
