The government is pledging to bring forward an updated Hydrogen Strategy later this year, following a “great deal of change” in the industry in recent years.
Industry Minister, Sarah Jones, was speaking at the Hydrogen UK annual conference in Birmingham where she explained how new evidence has emerged on costs, demand and expected operating patterns, with understanding of hydrogen evolving over time. This includes both how it can be best used in energy systems, as well as how the hydrogen economy can be expected to develop over time.
The updated strategy will outline how the government plans to build on progress made in recent years and make the most of the opportunities that lie in wait.
