Hydrogen UK has launched a new initiative – The Young Hydrogen Professional Network.
Unveiled at its Annual Conference and Awards in Birmingham, the aim of the network is to empower and connect hydrogen professionals that are under the age of 35 with industry leaders and give them access to valuable resources. It is free to join and provides a whole host of different benefits, including Hydrogen UK’s monthly newsletters, industry reports and invitations to exclusive membership briefings that cover topics across the hydrogen value chain.
Those that become members will also enjoy a 30% discount on conference attendance fees. Through this, Hydrogen UK wants to make it easier for young professionals to participate in key industry occasions.
Megan Backhouse, Senior Project Engineer at BOC (pictured above), has been appointed as first chair of the Young Hydrogen Professional Network. Backhouse was awarded the Future Hydrogen Leader Award and has been recognised for her contributions to hydrogen fuel switching trials, dedication to STEM education and commitment to advancing hydrogen safety standards.
On her appointment, Backhouse said: “This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for young professionals to connect, learn, and contribute to the future of hydrogen. I look forward to working with my peers to foster a vibrant and dynamic community.”
