One of the projects recently shortlisted through Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2) is moving forward after Uniper selected ITM Power to help develop its 120MW Humber H2ub project.
Humber H2ub is being targeted for Uniper’s Killingholme site, with a potential long-term capacity of more than 200MW. It is still subject to a Final Investment Decision – expected in 2026 – ahead of a target to be operational by 2029. Under the agreement, ITM Power will deploy six 20MW POSEIDON core electrolysis process modules into the Humber 2ub project.
As well as contributing to the decarbonisation of the Humber, the project is also expected to create skilled job opportunities at both Killingholme and across the surrounding area.
