Citing uncertainty in the market, Statkraft has announced it will be stopping new development of green hydrogen projects.
It assured that it does believe in the long-term future of green hydrogen and its key importance when it comes to cutting emissions from carbon-intensive industries, however in the here and now it is moving to prioritise growth opportunities in other technologies and market opportunities.
Parts of the portfolio are still set to be matured further before seeking investors to realise the projects, with several projects having received substantial external funding opportunities. Statkraft’s assured it is working with authorities to ensure their progression.
