ZeroAvia has unveiled plans for a Hydrogen Centre of Excellence and major manufacturing facility close to Glasgow Airport.
The manufacturing facility will help ZeroAvia produce its high-electric powertrains as it looks to respond to almost 3,000 full engine and component pre-orders that have been agreed with airlines and OEMs. The Hydrogen Centre of Excellence is to support ZeroAvia in a range of manufacturing operations, including powertrain production and testing. The site will also serve as its main location for the production of advanced high temperature PEM fuel cell stacks and supporting systems.
A £9 million Regional Selective Assistance grant courtesy of Scottish Enterprise has been credited with making the project possible, with ZeroAvia assuring it will unlock “millions in private investment and support hundreds of jobs over the next few years”.
