National Gas and GASCADE have unveiled a new partnership striving to create a UK-Germany Hydrogen Corridor.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding, the pair will explore the feasibility of a hydrogen pipeline that runs from either Teesside in England or St Fergus in Scotland, going through GASCADE’s AquaDuctus pipeline project in the North Sea where offshore hydrogen can be introduced, before then connecting to mainland Germany and Europe.
The ambition is for the UK-Germany Hydrogen Corridor to have a transport capacity for up to 20GW and to operate on a bi-directional basis.
