Protium and Petrofac have joined forces in a partnership that will help to expedite the delivery of green hydrogen projects, contributing to UK government targets.
Unveiled on 23 September, the partnership will leverage Protium’s green hydrogen expertise, alongside Petrofac’s engineering, procurement and construction capabilities, to deliver market-leading, innovative green hydrogen and net zero projects across the UK. It will support Protium’s drive to deliver 1GW of production assets by 2030 for a range of industrial customers.
Petrofac’s technical engineering expertise will be leveraged during the early stages of Protium’s projects. This will ensure shared clients gain the full, engineering, procurement and construction offering, with these projects including the development of renewable energy assets, green hydrogen production facilities and downstream hydrogen equipment.
As it stands, the partners are already actively pursuing a number of commercial green hydrogen projects in the UK. They are also jointly bidding on multiple government-funded programs to demonstrate the technical and commercial effectiveness of green hydrogen.
